About

Brendene Gans was born in Leader, Saskatchewan and spent her formative years in Regina which inspired her love of historic Architecture and Design. She spent the majority of her young adult life in Banff, Alberta as a fixture in the local snowboard community and travelling the world during the off-season months. In her late twenties, Brendene relocated to Vancouver Island to begin her journey towards becoming a professional Interior Designer, resulting in a Bachelor of Interior Design from Vancouver Island University, an internship in London, England and a successful career at Victoria, BC’s largest Interior Design firm. Her dedication as a student at VIU and as a professional working on custom homes earned several awards and published high profile media impressions.

Brendene and her partner returned to Regina to raise their son close to family and their humble prairie values. Days after settling into their century old home in The Cathedral neighbourhood The Pandemic Lockdown hit. During that time Brendene worked independently on a couple of projects which lead to the inception of Hue Design Collective.

Brendene’s background focused on custom new builds however renovating older historic homes compliments her passion to preserve old architecture and allows her to lean into the homes’ soul by enhancing irreplaceable details and/or creating a juxtaposition with modern fixtures and furniture that challenges the senses.
